Double R Amalgam is an English learning centre in Hung Hom, Hong Kong, and this site is our home online for everything we teach. We specialise in phonics, which gives young readers the tools to decode words sound by sound, and we build on it with grammar boosters, story books, dictation practice and live online Zoom lessons that students can join from home. Alongside our courses, the founder's writing collection gathers the articles Miss Rowena has published on English teaching, spelling rules, exam preparation and the study habits that help children learn.

Our materials are made for primary and secondary students in Hong Kong, for mainland Chinese learners who want a clearer route into English, and for teachers and schools looking for structured, classroom-ready resources. Every lesson, book and article here is written and maintained by the Double R Amalgam teaching team in Hung Hom, led by our founder, Miss Rowena Tam.
